Achieving 'Digital Resilience'

RedSeal's Mike Lloyd on the Need for Solutions Providers to Work Together
Achieving 'Digital Resilience'

To meet the increasing customer demands for effective solutions, security vendors must ensure their products work together well, says Dr. Mike Lloyd, CTO at RedSeal. This is particularly essential to achieving "digital resilience," the ability to promptly detect and respond to network intrusions, he says.

In this audio interview at RSA Conference 2017, Lloyd discusses:

  • Why digital resilience, not breach prevention, is the new focus;
  • Why in-house integration and cloud-based technologies are winning out; and
  • Factors contributing to the cybersecurity skills shortage.

Lloyd has more than 25 years of experience in the modeling and control of fast-moving, complex systems. He has been granted 21 patents for designs involving security, network assessment and dynamic network control. Before joining RedSeal, Lloyd was the CTO at RouteScience Technologies (acquired by Avaya), where he pioneered self-optimizing networks. He also served as principal architect at Cisco on the technology used to overlay MPLS VPN services across service provider backbones. Lloyd joined Cisco through the acquisition of Netsys Technologies, where he was the senior network modeling engineer.
